Gozo International Food Festival

It’s a free street food festival with a focus on inclusivity. Taste the authentic Asian cuisines, the fresh Mediterranean delights, the best of Europe, and genuine Gozitan delicacies. Your perfect night to discover new tastes, all rhythmed by a special set of live musicians right beneath the majestic Xewkija Parish church. Dessert lovers will also not be disappointed with an overwhelming choice of sweets and homemade ice creams, to name just a few.

It’s the right way to enjoy the best of summer at the beautiful sister island of Gozo.

The way it works is easy. Entrance is free of charge; patrons will have to purchase a token card and redeem the credit for any food and drinks they desire. Patrons will be also awarded a selection of €15 worth of discount vouchers to be spent in different restaurants across Malta.

Children will be entertained at a special children’s area, and those under 12 years will be given a free ticket to the Malta National Aquarium.

The Gozo Edition of the Malta International Food Festival is being held on Friday 5th & Saturday 6th August from 18:00 – 24:00 at Xewkija Main Square. This is part of Summer in the Square – Xewkija events happening each week in the Village of Xewkija.

Gozo Fig and Food Festival

The tenth edition of the traditional Gozitan fig and food festival will be organized in Pjazza Il-Vitorja, Xaghra Gozo, on Saturday 9th July 2022 from 8.30pm onwards. There will be musical accompaniment by George Curmi Il-Puse and folk dances by Fondazzjoni Kumittiva. Admission to the event is free. This activity is being organised by the Xagħra Local Council in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo.

L-għaxar edizzjoni tal-festival tat-tin u ikel tradizzjonali Għawdxi ser tiġi organizzata fi Pjazza Il-Vitorja, Xagħra Għawdex, nhar is-Sibt 9 ta’ Lulju 2022 mit-8.30pm ‘il quddiem. Ser ikun hemm akkumpanjament mużikali mill-band ta’ George Curmi Il-Puse’ u żfin folkloristiku mill-Fondazzjoni Kumittiva. Id-dħul huwa b’xejn. Din l-attivita’ hija organizzata mill-Kunsill Lokali tax-Xagħra bil-kollaborazzjoni tal-Ministeru għal Għawdex.

Honey& Bee Fest

Gozo honey and primary bee products directly from Gozo producers who are members of the Malta Beekeepers Association. Discover the fascinating life of bees and learn about the importance of these busy pollinators to our eco-system.

Roam around themed artisan stalls and find unique crafted goods to keep or to give away to loved ones. Buy trees and shrubs that are important sources for pollinators like bees and help to safeguard the bees’ habitats. The Gozo Honey & Bee Fest is a great way to appreciate all that is local and authentic and to learn about the importance of bees for human well-being. This is a great event to enjoy, taste and share Gozo.

Wirja Agrarja – Agricultural Fair

The annual traditional Wirja Agrarja – Agricultural Fair, takes place in June as part of the celebrations for the feast of l-Imnarja, which is celebrated in Nadur.

This very popular annual fair is organised by the Nadur Local Council. Visitors are able to enjoy a variety of events which include an exhibition of local farm products, crafts, artisans, antique farming tools, traditional Gozitan food & wine tasting.

Farm animals are also exhibited. Traditional folk dancing and singing (għana) is performed on both days. with the participation of several folk groups, including the Greenfields Folk Group from Malta, the Mnarja Folk Group, Tal-Fuklar Folk Group, Ta’ Ċangura Folk Group, and Benny and Tonia.

Wirja ta’ Biedja u Snajja` / Agriculture Show

The Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria, Gozo, are home to the Santa Marija Agricultural Fair, held on the 14th and 15th August.

The annual event is an all-round experience of the sight and sound of what is purely Gozitan.

The colourful atmosphere, the range of local agricultural and craft produce, livestock, plants and local food are there to enjoy: A must experience.

Traditions: Wine, Olive Oil & Honey 2019

On Saturday, 21st September 2019, the pretty village of Gharb in Gozo held ‘Traditions: Wine, Olive Oil, and Honey’, organised by the Għasri Local Council and EcoGozo within the Ministry for Gozo.

Back for a third year, this evening event offered visitors to the village a roasted pig, other local foods, wine, and honey tasting activities, olive oil delicacies including a chance to try olive oil flavored ice cream, as well as the very popular traditional sweet honey pastries.
